The project «Businesslike bicycle» has been started with the assistance of «A-100»

In European capitals bicycle is gradually becoming a leading vehicle. There are several reasons for that: city streets are congested, the air is polluted with exhaust fume, and using bicycle is fast and ecological.
Today one can meet a lot of bicyclists in Minsk in a sunny day, especially at the weekend. The main difference between our city and other European capitals is that for our citizens a bicycle is rather entertainment and sport than a vehicle. That is why Minsk bicycle society together with the Group of «A-100» companies decided to make the following step – explain to residents of Minsk that bicycle is perfectly good for going to work and coming on business. This was the goal of the project «Businesslike bicycle».
The contest «Businesslike bicycle» takes place in Minsk and Grodno starting from April, 24 until July, 24. The organizers of this contest are public organizations such as Minsk bicycle society, the Centre of Ecological ideas, The «Velo-Grodno» Initiative, the Group of «A-100» companies and TUT.by.
The participants compete in four nominations which are supposed to determine the most «bicycle-friendly»:
- company
- institute of higher education
- school
- service sector institution
Simultaneously with the contest different promotions and master classes will be held; there will be a lot of useful information explaining the advantages of bicycle as a vehicle and some data will appear in the leading mass media.
